A Wordpress PlugIn
A plugin for Wordpress –
Adds a todo style notes capability to the admin area - sliding notes area is available from all admin pages. Uses ajax, jQuery library.
Download the Plugin: here
== Installation and Usage ==
1. Upload the `adminnotes` directory and included files, as is, to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory -NOTE - The folder uploaded to your plugins directory MUST be named ‘adminnotes’ - if it is named ‘adminnotes-ajax-jquery’ - then Rename it to ‘adminnotes’.
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress Plugins page
3. That’s it. On each page in the Admin Area you will find a blue rectangle labeled “Toggle Notes”. Click to activate opening/closing.
4. Type notes in the text area and click “Save Notes” - notes are saved to the database.
5.To notify user if there “are” open notes (without toggling note area open) - a “Red Asterisk” displays next to the BLUE “Toggle Notes” heading. When there are no notes to display the “Red Asterisk” does not display. A default demo note is installed with the plugin.
6.To Delete notes - Check single or multiple check boxes for choice of notes to delete - then click the “Delete Checked Note” button to delete. ( This is a Permanent delete ).
7. The Notes Area is always available on any Admin page.
8. When moving between admin pages/sections or refreshing browser - the Notes Area toggles closed.
9) Tested in FF(3), IE6/7/8(beta3), Opera(9), MAC(10.3.9)FF

Hi: rafael
Thanks for giving the plugin a try.
There’s a problem with the directory name in the Zipped file… I’ll be changing the installation procedure..
Believe you need to change the ‘name’ of the directory/folder in the plugins
directory…
It is now: adminnotes-ajax-jquery
Change it to: adminnotes
This is a change of the folder name only.
Then go back into your admin plugins page and Refresh the page
and re-activate the plugin.
Let me know how you do.
thanks,
Bobp

Building a CMS for clients that are not web savvy makes for repeated emails. Now I can respond “Please read notes, click ‘Toggle Notes’ at the top of page”.
A disable function for deleting notes would be nice.
Great Plugin! I hope you maintain it. Maybe change the name with “Notes” separated. I only found this after a long search on Google.
Thanks!

Hey great plugin just what I was looking for because I kept on forgetting where I left off the night before from developing my plugin for wordpress. I wanted something that would update all notes and I could delete them right on the page where I was editing stuff. Exactly what I was looking but with only one problem:
the css did not load so I had to just take the css and print it on the html-adminotes.php page itself, wierd but didn’t want to mess with it that much. Other than that it works great functionality wise. I created an ordered list for the notes made it a little easier to read.
anyway great plugin and keep up the good work.
